António Bártolo
arrived in Portugal in the summer of 1975.
In 1976, he came
to the Western Region and shortly after took up residence in Torres Vedras,
near Lisbon, where he still lives and works.
In 1998 he made
his first solo exhibition, with works in oil and watercolour.
Versatile artist,
he likes all techniques, but it is in watercolour that has been most prominent.
Noted
watercolourist, uses apparently simple aesthetics, in which we find splendid
light effects that make him a poet of colour and memories.
Exhibits
regularly since 1998 and he is represented in some public and private
collections in Portugal and abroad.
He has
participated in organizing international meetings of artists, in particular
regarding the watercolour since 2006.
He is the author
of the book “Diário de uma Cidade”, a book of watercolours of the city of
Torres Vedras.
Nowadays beyond
all of his artistic work, he teaches the fine art of watercolour
