Jocelyne
Chauveau was born in a little city located in the Centre of France. There, she
lived in contact with nature durind her childhood, marked by a passion for the
arts and for drawing. She also developed
her tastes and her art interests, and Nature still guides her works as a
painter today.
She firstly
studied classical languages (latin and greek) at university, before turning to
Art History and Archeology (with a Master in Contemporary Art in Paris I –
Sorbonne), and worked in literature and edition.
In the
1990s, she took up drawing again, and discovered watercolour with some
masters (Cao Bei-An, Roland Palmaerts
and Marie-Line Montécot). With passion, softness and poetry, the artist depicts
various subjects, from the human figure, portraits and nudes, painted in
wet-on-wet, to the abstract landscape. The colours and contrasts create a
succession of rythms that suggest, more or less accurately, the essence of her
work.
Jocelyne
Chauveau is also workshop instructor during art fairs and exhibitions. She has
been taking part in many exhibitions in France, Belgium, Swiss, Japan and
Canada and has won many awards since the early 2000’s (Fondation Taylor’s
member in 2006).
